![]() Orange Jewelweed (Photograph #5103)
Jewelweed is found in shady moist habitats such as river banks, wet woodlands, and shaded roadside ditches. The wildflower is traditionally known for its folk-medicinal qualities because it seems to possess anti-inflammatory and fungicidal properties. Its seed pods will "explode" when they are brushed or pinched, scattering seeds over the nearby area. This photograph was taken along the roadside in the Yellowwood State Forest of Brown County, Indiana. This photograph is printed on archival Fine Art photo paper using Epson Ultrachrome pigment based inksand complemented with a soft-white mat. An optional black aluminum frame by Nielsen completes a piece of art that's ready to hang. This photograph is available in two sizes: 8"x10" matted to 11"x14" and 11"x14" matted to 16"x20".
