Cactus has been evolving in the New World for more than 40 million years. The spines in this photograph are actually leaves that evolution has transformed to protect the cactus from predators as well as assist plant cooling. They are a very effective defense.

This photograph is printed on archival Museo Silver Rag photo paper using Epson Ultrachrome K3 pigment based inks and complemented with a soft-white mat. An optional black aluminum frame by Nielsen completes a piece of art that's ready to hang.

This photograph is available in only one size: 8"x10" matted to 11"x14".
